On August 14th, 2024, we lost a remarkable individual, Gayle Christie (Ingle), who transcended the roles of sister, mother, and grandmother. Gayle was my big sister, her perseverance, caring manner and positive attitude were an inspiration for me.
Gayle was a dedicated politician who truly cared for her constituents and worked tirelessly to break down barriers, champion the marginalized, and empower new Canadians. In the 1970s and 80s, & 90's, during a transformative period in Canada, she demonstrated the strength and impact of women in leadership roles.
